OnePlus Adds ‘Maestro’ Tier to Red Cable Club, Rolls Out New Benefits for Members

OnePlus' popular Red Cable Club membership programme, which brings a host of benefits and discounts for members, is being revamped. The Shenzhen-based manufacturer is introducing a new membership tier to the RCC, which brings premium benefits for OnePlus customers. The new ‘Maestro' tier will serve as the topmost tier of the OnePlus Red Cable Club membership, offering highest value of offers across audio and IOT products, additional monthly RedCoins, special invites to OnePlus events, and more.

The Maestro tier of the Red Cable Club membership was announced Monday for OnePlus customers. According to OnePlus, RCC members with the newly launched OnePlus Open foldable, or at least three OnePlus flagship devices linked to their RCC account with purchases on OnePlus.in and OnePlus Store app will be eligible for the Maestro tier membership.

Mestro tier members will receive a discount coupon of up to Rs. 1,200 while purchasing OnePlus audio devices, watches, and tablets for a minimum order value of Rs. 1,999. Highest tier members will also get 50 RedCoins every month, which can be used on Red Cable Privé to access exclusive benefits.

Just like the lower tier plans Insider and Elite, Maestro members can also avail three-month extended warranty on OnePlus devices, coupon discount of up to Rs. 2,000 for OnePlus TV purchases, and discount coupons on phone purchases, too. Additionally, Maestro members also get a Cases & Protection coupon of up to Rs. 1,299.

Additionally, RCC members can claim an additional 10 percent discount up to Rs. 1,000 while dining out and using Swiggy Dineout app for payments, OnePlus said in a press release. These benefits apply to RCC members with OnePlus 6 Series and above

According to OnePlus, the Red Cable Club has over 21 million members in India. Named after OnePlus' recognisable, red-coloured charging cables, the RCC was launched in December 2019, bringing exclusive benefits and offers for OnePlus customers. Members also get access to OnePlus Care and free cloud storage. The club features four membership tiers, namely Explorer, Insider, Elite, and the newly launched Maestro.

The phone runs on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and sports a 7.82-inch AMOLED inner display paired with a 6.31-inch outer screen. Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Said to Support Ultra HDR; Launch Timeline Tipped Again

Samsung Galaxy S24 series is expected to launch in early 2024. The series is expected to succeed the Galaxy S23 lineup which were introduced to the market earlier this year in January. The upcoming lineup is likely to include a Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra, similar to its preceding lineups. In the last few months, several details including key specifications of the Galaxy S24 series have leaked on the Web. Now, another new leak has surfaced online that details some display features that the models are said to arrive with. Meanwhile, a report once again hints at the likely launch timeline of the handsets.

Tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) suggested in a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), that the much-anticipated Galaxy S24 series will support HDR viewing for photos in its gallery, a feature similar to that of Ultra HDR, that was introduced with Android 14 this year. The photo viewing experience on handsets is said to receive a considerable upgrade if this is true. An Ultra HDR-like feature will ensure that the brightness, contrast, and colour range of an image captured on the phone remains unchanged while viewed from its gallery, unlike what the SDR display range offers.

The tipster also claims in another post shared on Weibo that the Galaxy S24 series has entered the mass production stage and is likely to be released in the market by mid to late January. However, a recent Sammobile report suggests citing an internal source that the lineup will see an earlier launch, which could happen any time between early to mid-January. No matter which suggested timeline we go by, it is likely that we will see the launch of the Galaxy S24 series in January 2024.

The Galaxy S24 series has been tipped to use both in-house Exynos and Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets. The Galaxy S24 Ultra model has been spotted with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, while the base and the plus models are expected to be powered by deca-core Exynos 2500 SoCs.

Samsung also recently teased its upgraded 200-megapixel sensor with ISOCELL Zoom Anyplace technology. This new feature will offer AI-aided tracking of any subject while capturing a video and allowing for 4x zoom on 4K videos, in any direction, using its Tetra-pixel technology. The quad-camera setup of the high-end Galaxy S24 Ultra model has been tipped to include a 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP2SX primary sensor, a 12-megapixel Sony IMX564 ultra-wide camera, a 10-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and another 48-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom support.

The laptops are equipped with Liquid Retina XDR displays and are claimed to offer up to 22 hours of battery life. Apple is also touting the performance gains of the new chip lineup that comprises the M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max. MacBook Pro (2023) price in India, availability

Apple's new M3 MacBook Pro is priced at Rs. 1,69,900 for the base model with a 14-inch display and an M3 chip, while pricing for the 14-inch variant with an M3 Pro chip starts at Rs. 1,99,900. On the other hand, the base model of the MacBook Pro with a 16-inch display starts at Rs. 2,49,900. All three models are available in Silver and Space Black colour options.

The new M3-powered MacBook Pro models are available to preorder in 27 countries, including India. They will go on sale on November 7 via Apple Store and Apple Authorised Resellers.

MacBook Pro (2023) specifications, features

All of Apple's new MacBook Pro models are powered by the company's new M3 family of chips — the M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max. The top-of-the-line M3 Max chip can be configured with up to 128GB of RAM — this is the highest amount of RAM offered on the company's laptops to date. These are the second MacBook Pro models to be unveiled by Apple this year — the company launched new M2 powered MacBook Pro models back in January. The new chips are based on TSMC's 3nm process technology and are equipped with up to 16 CPU cores, up to 40 GPU cores, and up to 16 Neural Engine cores. The laptops are available with up to 1TB of SSD storage. Apple claims that the new M3 Pro chip is up to 40 times faster than its M1 Pro processor and up to 11 times faster than the last MacBook Pro model powered by an Intel Core i7 CPU.

While the new M3 lineup offers small CPU improvements compared with the previous generation, Apple has touted the GPU improvements on the new 3nm chips, such as hardware-accelerated ray tracing and a new Dynamic Caching feature that allows the GPU on the M3 chip to allocate a precise amount of local memory to optimise memory usage for tasks, according to the company.

Apple has equipped the new MacBook Pro models with 14-inch and 16-inch Liquid Retina XDR (3,024x1,964 pixels) displays with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1600 nits (HDR content) and 600 nits (SDR content). It has a backlit keyboard with support for Touch ID, for biometric authentication.

Connectivity options on the new MacBook Pro models include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, up to three Thunderbolt 4/ USB 4 ports, a MagSafe 3 charging port, an SDXC card reader, an HDMI port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M3 chip is claimed to offer up to 22 hours of battery life on a single charge, while the M3 Pro and M3 Max models offer up to 18 hours of battery life. You can get up to 22 hours of battery life on the larger 16-inch MacBook Pro model with M3 Pro and M3 Max chips.

Apple Unveils 24-Inch iMac With M3 Chip, Up to 10-Core GPU in India: Price, Specifications

Apple has finally upgraded the 24-inch iMac with the newly announced M3 chip, following the M1-powered iMac that was launched in 2021. The 24-inch iMac with M3 chip was unveiled during Apple's Scary Fast event on Tuesday. It features the same design as the 2021 iMac model with an M1 chip, that was launched three years ago. The upgraded iMac M3 model comes with an 8-core CPU and up to a 10-core GPU. It is claimed to offer up to two times better performance than the M1-based iMac while also being more efficient.

24-inch iMac M3 price in India, availability

The new 24-inch iMac with an M3 chip starts at Rs. 1,34,900. This model comes with an 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 8GB of memory, a 256GB SSD storage, and two Thunderbolt ports. Apple includes the Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse with the 24-inch iMac. It is available in green, pink, blue, and silver colour options.

On the other hand, the 24-inch iMac with M3 variant with the 10-core GPU starts at Rs. 1,54,900 or Rs. 1,44,900 for education. This is bundled with a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Magic Mouse. It is available in Blue, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Silver, and Yellow colour options.

24-inch iMac M3 specifications, features

While the new 24-inch iMac with M3 chip looks similar to the older model, it does offer some performance improvements. The M3 chip with 8-core CPU and up to 10-core GPU with support for up to 24GB unified RAM is claimed to be twice as faster as the M1 chip, and is based on the Apple iPhone 15 Pro's A17 Pro chip.

Apple's new M3 chip is manufactured using a 3nm process, which also makes it more efficient than the M1 chip that powered its predecessor. In the graphics department, the chip offers hardware-accelerating mesh shading with support for ray tracing on the iMac. There's also a 16-core Neural Engine that enables faster machine learning.

The all-in-one 24-inch iMac with M3 comes with a 24-inch Retina Display that offers 4.5K resolution and 500 nits of peak brightness. It now comes with Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, up to four USB Type-C ports, two Thunderbolt ports, and Gigabit Ethernet support. Crypto Price Today: Bitcoin Holds Ground Above $34,000, Stablecoins Tumble Alongside Tron, Leo

Bitcoin's trading price on Monday, October 30 held ground over the mark of $34,000 (roughly Rs. 28 lakh), maintaining a strong position. At the time of writing, the value of Bitcoin stood at $34,295 (roughly Rs. 28.5 lakh). Talking to Gadgets 360, the CoinDCX research team said that this week carries significant weight for the crypto market due to various macro events lined up in the US that includes the FOMC meeting, the monthly unemployment rate announcement, refreshed list of job openings, and the US non-farm Employment Change – all of which can introduce volatility to the crypto market.

Ethereum minted a small profit of 0.08 percent on Monday. This brings the value of ETH to stand at $1,780 (roughly Rs. 1.48 lakh).

“There's a noticeable divide in opinions regarding the future of Bitcoin, with some anticipating a potential breakthrough past the $35,000 (roughly Rs. 29 lakh) resistance level, while others foresee a looming price correction. The situation is equally intriguing in the world of Ethereum. The prospect of Ethereum surpassing the $1,800 (roughly Rs. 1.4 lakh) level has sparked hopes of a significant rally, igniting optimism among investors. Over the weekend, signs of recovery began to emerge in the market as prices of tokens went up after a brief one-day correction,” Rajagopal Menon, Vice President, WazirX told Gadgets360.

Ahead of the US releasing details on interest rates and unemployment rate – most cryptocurrencies are trading in profits today.

These include Binance Coin, Ripple, Solana, Cardano, Dogecoin, Chainlink, and Polygon.

Other cryptocurrencies to have recorded profits include Polkadot, Litecoin, Avalanche, Stellar, Cosmos, Uniswap, and Cronos.

The crypto market valuation, that spiked by 0.03 percent in the last 24 hours, now stands on the mark of $1.27 trillion (roughly Rs. 1,05,73,111 crore), as per CoinMarketCap.

“With a gains-led momentum within the crypto market, investors are registering record trading activities. The total value of money invested in active bitcoin and ether options contracts on the prominent BTC and ETH options and futures exchange—Deribit—has surged to $20.64 billion (roughly Rs. 830 crore). This tally nearly parallels the peak registered in 2021 when BTC was at $66,000 (roughly Rs. 54.9 lakh),” Parth Chaturvedi, Investments Lead, CoinSwitch Ventures told Gadgets360.

Small losses struck a handful of altcoins today, which include Tether, USD Coin, Tron, Leo, and Bitcoin SV.

Instagram Testing New Feature That Allows Friends to Add Photos, Videos to Your Carousel Posts

Instagram has seen a host of changes in recent times as the popular photo sharing app adds more features. Last week, the Meta-owned social media platform was testing a dedicated feed that only shows posts from verified users. Now, the app is testing a collaborative carousel post feature that allows users to invite their friends to contribute to their feed posts. This new feature would let your friends add more photos or videos to your post after it goes live.

Instagram head Adam Mosseri said that the platform was testing the new feature but didn't specify a rollout date for the same. According to him, the feature would let users invite their friends to add to their carousel posts on Instagram.

“Before posting a carousel, you can turn on the ability for your followers to submit photos and/or videos, which you can approve to add to the post,” Mosseri said in a Threads post. In an image of the test feature accompanying his post, an ‘Add to post' button can be seen on the bottom left corner of a carousel post. Friends of the user can tap the button and send in their contributions to the post. Alternatively, it seems users can also swipe to the last slide of the carousal, which shows up as a larger ‘Add to post' prompt for adding photos or videos to the existing post.

Bear in mind that you'd only be able to add media to a friend's carousel post if they have the feature turned on. All submitted photos and videos would also need to be approved by the original poster.

Last week, Mosseri said that Instagram was testing a dedicated feed that would only show posts from verified users. Currently, aside from the default Instagram feed, populated with ads, reels, and other posts, users can switch to a Following feed to only see posts from people they follow. There's also a Favourites feed that shows posts from users that have been marked as favourites in the app.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Meta was planning on charging users in the European Union up to EUR 13 (roughly Rs. 1,130) a month for access to an ad-free version of Facebook or Instagram on mobile. The ad-supported version of Instagram is currently free for all users.

Instagram has also faced criticism in recent times over issues of privacy, security and its impact on mental health of users, especially children. Last week, Reuters reported that 33 states in the US were suing Meta, accusing the company of misleading the public and knowingly making its social media platforms like Instagram more addictive for children and teenagers. In their lawsuit, the states said that research had linked children's use of Meta's social media platforms with "depression, anxiety, insomnia, interference with education and daily life, and many other negative outcomes."

Apple 'Scary Fast' Mac Launch Event Tomorrow: How to Watch Livestream and What to Expect

Apple's 'Scary Fast' launch event is set to take place on October 30 at 5pm PT — that's 5:30am IST on Tuesday in India — and the Cupertino company is expected to unveil new computers at its next launch event. The firm unexpectedly announced the event, which will be the first to be held in the evening. We already know that Apple is planning on unveiling new Mac models at the event, thanks to the company's teaser that was shared last week.

Apple's 'Scary Fast' event: How to watch livestream

Apple's upcoming launch event will begin at 5:30am on Tuesday (that's tomorrow) at the company's headquarters in Apple Park, California. If you want to watch a live stream of the event, you can visit the Apple.com website or the company's YouTube channel. The event will also be available to stream via the Apple TV+ app.

You can also watch the 'Scary Fast' event via the YouTube player embedded below.

Apple's 'Scary Fast' event: What to expect

The Apple logo on the next Apple event invite switches to the Mac logo, which gives us a clear idea of what the main products that will be unveiled on Tuesday. Apple is expected to unveil the first Mac computers with M3 chips — the first processors from the company for its computers that are built on a 3nm process, just like Apple's new A17 Pro chip on the iPhone 15 Pro models. The new M3 chip is expected to be the most notable upgrade on Apple's new Mac models.

At its upcoming launch event, Apple is tipped to announce a new iMac — the first upgrade from the company's 2021 model that was equipped with an M1 chip. As a result, the next model is expected to offer a fairly large jump in performance compared to its predecessor. However, the design of the upcoming iMac model is unlikely to see major changes, as per reports.

Apple is also expected to unveil refreshed versions of its 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. Both laptops are expected to feature Apple's more powerful M3 Pro (12 core CPU, 18 core GPU) and M3 Max (16 core CPU and 32-core GPU) chips — which should offer a jump in performance over the M2 Pro and M2 Max MacBook Pro models that were unveiled earlier this year.

The company is unlikely to launch refreshed versions of the Mac mini, Mac Studio, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air with its next-generation M3 chip until next year, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. However, after Apple's recent switch to using a USB Type-C port on its iPhone lineup, we can also expect the company to announce new USB Type-C versions of its accessories for Mac computers, including the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro has a blue colour panel and a matte finish frame. The special edition smartphone comes bundled with various accessories including Flipsuit cards, and Flipsuit cases among others. As mentioned, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro draws inspiration from the SGH-E700, which was released 20 years ago in 2003 as Samsung's first flip phone to feature a built-in antenna. The Retro variant has an indigo blue and silver shade, a different UX design reinterpretation of 2000s pixel graphics and animation on the Flex Window. It comes bundled with three Flipsuit cards featuring logos from different eras of Samsung's history, a Flipsuit case and a collector card engraved with a unique serial number.

In July, the vanilla Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 was launched in India priced at Rs. 99,999 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model. The 8GB RAM + 512GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 1,09,999. It debuted in Cream, Graphite, Lavender, and Mint shades.

Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 5 runs on Android 13 with One UI 5.1.1 on top and features Armor Aluminum frames. A10-megapixel selfie camera manages selfies and video calls. It has an IPX8 rating for water resistance. Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Z Flip 5 with a 3,700mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging.

India vs England World Cup Match 2023 Today: How to Watch Live Stream, Live Telecast Details

India vs England World Cup 2023 match is scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 29, at Ekana Sports City stadium, Lucknow. The host team has been faring well in the tournament so far, with 5 wins in all the matches it has played. With 10 points, India sits second in the points table for the World Cup 2023. It is only behind South Africa, who moved to first position after a massive win against Pakistan. On the other hand, the defending champions will find it hard even to make it to the semi-finals at this stage. England sits at the last position in the points table currently, with only one win in its account so far.

India is suffering a loss as Hardik Pandya is recovering from his injury. While he was expected to join the team for Lucknow's game, his ligament tear may take longer to heal, and we might miss him for the next two games. Suryakumar Yadav replaced Pandya in the previous match against New Zealand. However, he failed to woo fans with his performance. On the other hand, Mohammad Shami took 5 wickets in the same match and became the Player of the Match. For the next clash, BCCI may take a chance with R Ashwin to fill Pandya's position. Another awaiting feat is Virat Kohli's 49th century, making him the cricketer with most ODI centuries.

England, the champions of World Cup 2019, has been finding it hard to score a win. In the five matches it has played so far, England has managed to claim a victory only once. While captain Jos Buttler has repeatedly defended his team, there have been questions from all ends. Their performance has made it difficult to qualify for the semi-finals. It will be interesting to see if England manages to reclaim their lost glory against India.

The match will begin at 2 pm IST, and the toss will take place 30 minutes before the scheduled time, at 1:30 pm IST.

India vs England World Cup 2023 squad

India: Rohit Sharma (c), Hardik Pandya (vc), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Ishan Kishan, Surya Kumar Yadav

England: Jos Buttler (c), Moeen Ali, Gus Atkinson, Jonny Bairstow, Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Sam Curran, Liam Livingstone, Dawid Malan, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, David Willey, Mark Wood, Chris Woakes

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 tournament began on October 5. The first match took place between the finalists of the last season — New Zealand and England. With 17 matches left before teams move to the semi-finals zone, a lot is at stake that can turn the tables anytime. This year, 10 teams have participated in the World Cup 2023 tournament. These are Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Netherlands, South Africa, and Sri Lanka. The World Cup 2023 final will take place on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

India Mobile Congress 2023 Highlights: From JioSpaceFiber, 6G, 5G Redcap Device Demo and More

The seventh edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2023 kicked off on Friday with the inauguration by Prime Minister Modi at Bharat Mandapam. This year's event is centred around the theme of Global Digital Innovation, with exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge technologies such as satellite communication, 6G demo, and other use cases.

The first day of the event saw dignitaries like Akash Ambani, Chairman - of Reliance Jio, Sunil Bharti Mittal, Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, and Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of Aditya Birla Group, attending the inaugural session of IMC 2023. Unlike last year, where the 5G rollout announcement was a big draw for the event, this year, we saw multiple demo sessions and other key announcements, which we will cover in this article, making the main headlines.

100 5G Labs

The first big announcement was about establishing 100 5G labs across India to promote students, professors, startups, and MSMEs to work on 5G technology in various fields like health, agriculture, manufacturing and more. These labs will be set up in academic institutions in multiple states, including Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Telangana, Karnataka and more. The names of institutions have been announced, and they include IIT Guwahati, IIT Silchar, Delhi Technological University, Jamia Hamdard University, Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, and more.

At the IMC 2023 event, Reliance Jio demonstrated the country's first satellite-based Gigabit broadband service to provide high-speed internet in previously inaccessible geographies. At the event, Jio demoed how they are offering internet to four locations, which are remote in location, including Gir Gujarat, Korba Chattisgarh, Nabrangpur Odissa, and Jorhat Assam. At the moment, there's no word when the service will be widely available to users.

Reliance Jio also showcased the Jio Glass, a mixed-reality handset, at IMC 2023. Announced at the company's 43rd annual general meeting, Jio Glass was available for demo paired to a OnePlus Nord smartphone. We tried it briefly for a few minutes, and it seemed decent.

6G Sensing Demo

Nokia presented a demo of its 6G network, which can act as a radar and sense objects, people, and movements without compromising privacy. This situational awareness will give individuals a digital 6th sense, enabling them to gather information about their surroundings, see around corners, and even interact with objects from a distance. Nokia showcased a live demonstration of this 6G sensing capability using prototype radio equipment. The company also highlighted its smart and safe railway networks (NCRTC) and its collaboration with Alstom to deliver a private wireless network for (NCRTC) Delhi to Meerut RRTS. It is claimed to be the world's first LTE/4.9G private wireless network that supports European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2 Signaling. The private network being deployed enables trains to continuously receive their movement authorities using radio signals and report their exact direction and position to ensure the safety of all on board. The low-emission RRTS will transport more people at average speeds of 100 kmph, reducing travel time and road congestion.

RedCap Technology Demo

Reduced Capability (RedCap) solution aims to bring down complexity and extend the battery life of devices while delivering higher data rates/ speeds. RedCap is a new radio access network (RAN) software solution by Ericsson that creates new 5G use cases and enables more 5G connections from devices such as smartwatches, other wearables, industrial sensors and AR/VR devices. At the IMC 2023, Ericsson and Airtel partnered with Qualcomm to demonstrate Reduced Capability (RedCap) device capabilities. Earlier this month, Ericsson's pre-commercial Reduced Capability (RedCap) software was successfully tested on the Airtel 5G network.

How Airtel is solving network problems with AI

Airtel's A-SON solution isn't a new proposition, but it attracted us to demo how this works in a region. Airtel claims that its AI-powered Self Optimising Network or A-SON is reimaging network experience. The system detects anomalies and solves them with AI without any manual intervention. The solution is designed in a way to predict issues that the Airtel networks will face in future and ensure that the team resolves them beforehand. Notably, the solution is fully designed by Airtel and was first introduced in March 2022.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Could Offer Satellite Communication Support: Report

Samsung Galaxy S24 series is likely to offer satellite communication support, according to details reportedly shared by a company executive. According to a Sisa Journal-E report (translated from Korean), Samsung Electronics System LSI Business Head Yong-In Park stated during a recent presentation that the South Korean tech conglomerate was preparing to offer support for satellite communication on its smartphones next year. With the Samsung Galaxy S24 series of smartphones expected to debut in Q1 2024, these handsets are likely to be the first to support the feature.

According to the report, the Samsung executive said that the company has already made preparations to support smartphone communications using a satellite. Yong-In Park, who made the announcement at the 2023 Semiconductor Expo, did not specify a timeline for the functionality to be enabled, or reveal which phones would support the feature.

It is worth noting that Apple announced support for non-terrestrial networks (NTN) communication via its Emergency SOS satellite feature with the iPhone 14 series of smartphones in 2022, and the company's latest phones — including the iPhone 15 Pro Max — also support the feature. Earlier this year, Qualcomm announced Snapdragon Satellite support on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, but the feature was not enabled on the Samsung Galaxy S23 series of smartphones.

On the other hand, Samsung's own Exynos 5300 modem that features on its Exynos 2400 mobile processor as well as Google's Tensor G2 (Pixel 7) and Tensor G3 (Pixel 8) chips, also supports NTN connectivity. Samsung is yet to reveal whether it will enable support for satellite communication on its Exynos 2400 chip — expected to power the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ — or the recently unveiled Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip that is tipped to power the top-of-the-line Galaxy S23 Ultra handset.

It's also unclear whether Samsung's Galaxy S23 series of smartphones — comprising the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra — as well as the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 will offer support for emergency satellite connectivity. TM Roh, president and head of Samsung's mobile experience business division, previously stated that satellite functionality was still quite restricted on smartphones and that it was too soon to implement the feature on Samsung handsets.
